Flow Trail Privacy Policy

Flow Trail lets you ride with friends: live group tracking, bike routes with voice directions, and offline maps. Because it uses your location, this policy explains exactly when it's used and who can see it.

Your Flow account

One account works in every Flow app. We keep your email address and name. Your password is handled by our sign-in provider (Supabase) and never reaches us in readable form. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email from them.

Your location

• Only while you ride. Your live position is shared only after you tap Start riding, and only with the members of the ride group you're in.
• Removed when you stop. When you stop riding, your shared position is deleted from the server.
• In the background (Android app): while a ride is on, the app keeps tracking with the screen off and shows a notification so you always know.
• Your rides: when a ride ends, its time, distance and the path you took are saved to your account so you can see them in My rides. Only you can see them.

What else Flow Trail stores

• Your ride groups (name, invite code, members and their display names and colours).
• Group alerts you send, such as Regroup, Stopping and SOS (kept for a short time).
• Routes you share with your group, friends you add by email, and places you save.
• Your settings (name on the map, colour, theme, language, speed alerts) and downloaded maps, which stay on your phone.

Friends

People can only add you as a friend if they know your exact email. Nobody can search for you. When you're listed as a friend, they see your name and a hidden version of your email (like o***@gmail.com).

Flowra

Flowra (your Flow assistant) can tell you about your own rides, and about members of your ride groups who are sharing their ride at that moment (who's riding, roughly where and for how long). It sees no more than you see in Flow Trail.

Who helps run Flow Trail

• Supabase hosts the database, sign-in and live group updates.
• OpenStreetMap services: maps from OpenFreeMap, place search from Photon (komoot) and Nominatim, bike routes from Valhalla. Your searches and route start and end points are sent to them; your account details are not.
• Cloudflare hosts the app.

Keeping and deleting your data

Your data stays until you delete it. You can delete single items in the app at any time.

Delete account: Settings → Help & support → Delete account permanently deletes your Flow account and everything stored for it in every Flow app (Flowra, Flow Money and Flow Trail). You can do this from the website in any browser too. If you can't sign in, use Forgot password on the sign-in screen first. If that doesn't work, contact us and we'll delete your account within 30 days after confirming by email that it's yours.

You can leave a group at any time; group owners can remove members.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit. Database rules make sure only your own signed-in account can read or change your data. Secret keys stay on our server and are never sent to your device.

Children

Flow apps are not meant for children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we don't knowingly collect their data.

We don't sell your data

We don't sell your data, show ads, or share your email with unrelated services.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date above and tell you in the app about important changes.
